Nicola Pugliese, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist and Attending Physician in the Hepatology Unit at Humanitas Research Hospital, Milan, Italy. He is currently affiliated with the Department of Medicine at the Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden. His clinical and research activities focus on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), and vascular liver disorders. His research has progressively evolved toward the clinical application of artificial intelligence in hepatology, with the aim of improving patient care. He is also actively involved in exploring the use of digital tools and large language models to support patient counselling and clinical decision-making in hepatology. Dr. Pugliese has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications in leading international medical journals.
