Dr. Montano-Loza is a Hepatologist and Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta, Canada. He is the Medical Director of the Liver Transplant Program, Gastroenterology Division Research Lead and Co-Director of the Autoimmune Liver Clinic, and the Co-Chair of the Canadian Association for the Study of Liver Disease (CASL) Education Committee.
He was the recipient of the Clinical Research Award from the American College of Gastroenterology in both 2012 and 2018, the Canadian National Transplant Research Program Innovation Grant Award in 2018, and the Canadian Liver Foundation Research Grant for 2019.
